This tour presents the concept behind the restoration of the Antakalnis Sapieha Palace, the completed restoration work and phenomena that inspire classical and modern restoration – from the vibration of the fresco atom and the breakdown of the crystal lattice to sustainable biomimetic bacterial crystallisation. As part of the tour, your guide will present the research and conservation, the valuable remains of 17th and 18th-century decor and bas reliefs, fragments of porcelain tiles and other features from the period in which the Sapieha family lived, as well as interventions made in later centuries.
