Special Screening of the Moving Images at Sapieha Palace programme & Artist Talk with Eva Kot’átková

07/02/2025

Join us for a special screening of Eva Kot’átková’s film Stomach of the World (2017, 46 min.) This surreal yet humorous film explores the world from a child’s perspective, where young performers enact a sequence of exercises, imagining the world as a body that consumes and transforms everything it ingests.

A discussion with the artist will follow the screening. The conversation will be conducted in English. Admission to the event is free of charge.

Eva Kot’átková (1982, Prague) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague with a Master’s degree and obtained her PhD from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She is involved in multiple educational projects including Futuropolis: The School of Emancipation, which aims to bring critical pedagogy to the Czech education system and School of Imagination, a workshop series focused on senses, emotions and imagination.  She is the co-founder of the platform Institute of Anxiety, a space for collaboration between artists, theorists and activists that sees anxiety as a result of social, political, economic and ecological forces. It argues that there is a potential for positive change both in attempting structural changes and system critique but also in diverse acts of sharing.
