“Housekeeping in a Dangerous Time” at “Deep Rivers Run Silent”: a moving-image programme

This year, Sapieha Palace will once again take part in the archival film and culture festival “Deep Rivers Run Silent”, held in the Rail Park Hangar at the Vilnius Railway Museum (Pelesos St. 10). The event is free of charge.
Works by Micaela Durand and Daniel Chew will be presented on August 6 at 9 pm. Their trilogy of short films explores what it means to come of age, form friendships, and seek intimacy in an everyday world increasingly shaped by digital social networks. Through three portraits of contemporary youth, the films trace the fragile terrain between longing and alienation, closeness and distance, revealing lives suspended between the desire for profound connection and the isolating conditions of perpetual connectivity.
Micaela Durand and Daniel Chew are a New York-based filmmaking duo. Their work has been shown widely in the U.S. and internationally, including at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, New York Film Festival, MoMA PS1, White Columns, 47 Canal, MOCA LA, The Shed, BAFICI, Le Cinéma Club, and e-flux. They have completed residencies at MacDowell and Fogo Island Arts, and were recipients of the 2021–2022 Jerome Artist Fellowship.
