Baroque bas-relief workshop for families at the Sapieha Palace

13/04/2024

On 13 April, the opening weekend of the Sapieha Palace, we invite you to come and say hello, see the restored facades of the palace, and try your hand at the techniques of creating a Baroque bas-relief.

Sapieha Palace is a unique Baroque noble residence in Lithuania, hiding the layers of a magnificent and uncomfortable history, reflecting the political attitudes, expectations and aesthetic tastes of the time. We invite you to explore the subtleties of Baroque architecture and design with artists Monika Kornilova and Artūras Mitinas, to understand the philosophical and political ideas behind the works of art. Deciphering the language of ornate reliefs and intricate decoration, the artists will invite you to create a bas-relief inspired by baroque techniques.

With a ticket you will be able to visit the exhibition “Refuge” curated by Virginija Januškevičiūtė and Edgaras Gerasimovičius.
