DURATION: 60 min.
Palaces are strange places to call home. They are often magnificent but not always cozy. They often lack corridors, so sleeping, eating, and reading must take place in separate rooms. By analyzing images of different buildings, we can explore why architecture has changed. What were architects thinking when they designed Baroque ensembles or brutalist reinforced concrete towers? Which features help us recognize churches, manors, or museums? As we walk around the Sapieha Palace, we will try to guess the purpose of each room based on the smells and household items inside. During the educational program, everyone will have the opportunity to design their own palace and discuss their dream home.
