Sapieha Palace’s inaugural exhibition, ‘Refuge’, presents contemporary art in the context of historical art and other objects from the past. The exhibition elaborates on the themes set by the history of the palace itself – caring for others and healing, moments of wonder, the formative power of forces beyond human control, the search for security, and the creation of a home. The tour is occasionally guided by ‘Refuge’ curators Virginija Januškevičiūtė and Edgaras Gerasimovičius.
